Site Enhancement: YouTube Data API

ytpoweredWe are very excited to announce two recent enhancements to Dooshare that leverage the YouTube Data API.

YouTube Connect:
Our first API enhancement added the ability to authenticate with YouTube and access your account right from DooShare.

With this integration, you are able to retrieve your videos hosted on YouTube, edit them, delete them, and easily syndicate them to DooShare via a customized embed.

The integration also permits the user to upload a video directly to YouTube – all the while staying on DooShare. Once the video has been uploaded to YouTube – that video is then available along with the rest of the users videos (retrieve them, edit them, delete them, and syndicate them to DooShare). We feel this offers our users a sense of convenience and confidence to know their videos are hosted, served and ‘Powered by YouTube’.

Video Search:
Our second API enhancement add an enhanced video search ‘Powered by YouTube’. We understand that there will be instances where DooShare may not have the video you are really looking for – so now you have the ability to search YouTube for that particular video. Be it a funny video you heard about or a particular product review – now you can search conveniently from DooShare.

Furthermore, both API integrations, YouTube Connect and Video Search, have been fully integrated into DooShare Video Classifieds. So now, it is easily than ever to add a video to any classified listing. Find it on DooShare, upload it to DooShare or YouTube, or search YouTube. Chances are – you will find what you are looking for.

Update: Video Classifieds Full Steam Ahead

Things have been progressing very well with our launch of DooShare Video Classifieds. Believe it or not, we recently performed a significant update to the classifieds area which included many enhancements – one of which is a core ecommerce platform. We are VERY exicted about our new ecommerce engine – since we now have the capability to charge for classified ad placement as well as for ‘premium’ ad enhancements.

For now, and for a limited time, our members can test out our classifieds area for FREE. In fact, we are planning a promotional offer granting all new and exisiting members a bank of DooShare Credits that can be used to posts ads, add on premium ad enhancements and really take DooShare Video Classifieds for a test drive.  

So if you have not done so already, create an account, find something you want to sell, make a short video demonstrating the product, post the video and then create a classified ad. Pretty simple!

Update: Video Tutorial Series

In an effort to make the use and navigation of the DooShare site easier for our users we have begun to roll out a video tutorial series.

Each video will focus on a specific feature that is available on the site. A ‘How to’ of sorts.

We also have plans to enhance our FAQ with video. Most useful we think.

Update: DooShare Video Classifieds

We are getting close to launching DooShare Video Classifieds. The team has been working very hard over the last several months to bring a ‘best-in-class’ classifieds service to market.

Once ready, we intend to fully integrate DooShare Video Classifieds into the site – and will provide a seamless experience.

DooShare Video Classifieds

We are exploring adding a video based classifieds service to DooShare. Think – all the best of Craigslist or Kijiji married with the ease of adding video to DooShare. We believe there is a market for individuals who are looking to buy and sell their stuff or a small businesses looking to promote their goods and services to do so via short-form promotional videos.

Think of it this way – folks can create their own commercials and post them within a classified ad posted on DooShare. Yes – our classified ads will support text and photos – but with the addition of ‘video’ the classified ads will be far more impactful. The below is just an example to demonstrate the possibilities.

Welcome to the DooShare blog

Hi all,

 

Welcome to our blog. This blog is a venue for us to share with the community of Dooshare users - a sneak peek at some of the really cool new features we have in the works and are planning to rollout soon on DooShare. We have some great things in store – so stay tuned.

Aside from that, we also plan to share our prespective on significant movements in the marketplace. While our primary focus will be on the video landscape – by no means is that it. We frequently find it is difficult to separate the hot trends in social media, mobile, and with general web innovation. If it is interesting and has impact – it just might make it to the hot topics.
